Born into the extremist Children of God cult before escaping to live on the streets at 16, San Fransisco native Christopher Owens has lived a more interesting life than most. His band, the all-male Girls, and their Elvis Costello/ Beach Boys-loving debut, simply entitled Album, put that life and more on record to devastating effect.
