Of Montreal

Started and driven by the uniquely brilliant Kevin Barnes, Of Montreal emerged from the second wave of Atlanta Georgia's Elephant 6 collective in the late 90's, debuting with Cherry Peel on Bar/None in 1997. A slew of prolific output followed, highlighted by 1999's The Gay Parade and 2005's The Sunlandic Twins before Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer? (2007) was the band's first to break the Billboard's 100. Skeletal Lamping - Of Monreal's ninth album - was released the following year.

Caught Live: Of Montreal, Dublin

A vaudeville act of ostentatious theatre cannot fail to entertain any of those who are summoned to view this fantastical show.

With the stage at times appearing like the deleted scenes from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, singer and band founder Kevin Barnes fronts the extravagance....

It’s slightly hard to comprehend that the Kevin Barnes being smothered in red paint on Camden’s Koko stage on a Thursday night is the same mild, almost gregarious Kevin Barnes who attentively answered our questions on a park bench four days earlier.

Review of of Montreal - False Priest by Of Montreal

Whether performing naked, adopting an array of bizarre alter-egos or stuffing his songs with every idea imaginable, Kevin Barnes has cut an undeniably maverick figure in recent years, and one for whom restraint would not appear to be an option. The good news for fans of  the caped frontman...
