When rumours abounded of Field Music’s demise just four months after releasing album of the year/decade candidate Tones of Town, Ragged Words got worried. However one third of the Wearsiders’ creative output, David Brewis, got busy. The confirmation of Field Music’s hiatus in June 2007 was followed swiftly by the announcement of Brewis’ new project School Of Language, a pseudonym for his “crazier ideas”. Following brother Peter's The Week That Was project, the pair returned to Field Music duties in 2009, with their third album expected in early 2010.
