Wooden Shjips

Rhythmic improvisors informed by experimental psychedelic music, San Francisco quartet Wooden Shjips first came to local notice in 2006 with the release of 10" 'Shrinking Moon for You' followed by a double a-side single 'Vampire Blues'/ 'I Hear The Vibrations'. Another double a-side followed in 2007, this time on Sub Pop, while the band's self titled debut album was released on Holy Mountain. A collection of those by now hard to come by early releases - entitled Volume One - appeared a year later and a follow-up proper - Dos - was released in May 2009.
