Lykke Li Makes (Another) Bizarre Video, Gets Remixed By Dave Sitek
Truth be told, we're getting a bit worried about Lykke Li. A 'little bit' worried, you might even say. First she tells us a few months back (on hormonal single 'Get Some') that she's our prostitute; then she heads off into the desert to cavort with mirrors (nope, us neither); and now she's released a possibly cryptic/probably-just-downright-loopy 'untitled' video in which she slashes knives around while performing some sort of interpretive dance routine on what looks like the surface of the moon. No, really: check it out for yourselves below.
Maybe it's all just a case of pre-album-release tension getting the better of the twenty-four year-old. After all, it's still over a month before Wounded Rhymes - the follow-up to her excellent 2008 debut Youth Novels - sees the light of day. It's probably a good job, then, that TV On The Radio/Maximum Balloon dude and all-round production savant Dave Sitek is on hand to distract her before she does herself some harm. RCRD LBL have just made Sitek's typically brainy remix of 'I Follow Rivers' - Li's forthcoming single taken from that new album - available for free download. And we now have the pleasure of sharing it with your good selves below. The single itself will get a physical release on Valentine's Day (February 14), followed a fortnight later by the album on the last day of the month.
Don't say we didn't warn you about the Swede's upcoming live dates either. Because we did, a couple of months back. Needless to say, tickets for all of those gigs are already selling like proverbial hot pants - I mean, hot cakes...
