Last week saw the release of Keep You Close, the sixth full-length offering from Belgian rockers dEUS. Coming some three-and-a-half years on from previous outing Vantage Point, this record finds Tom Barman and co. moving away from the very deliberate, studio-bound approach of its predecessor towards a more organic, live-based sound. The writing and recording process duly saw the band demoing rough versions of songs at festivals, enabling them to tweak and refine certain elements before stepping into the recording studio.

This has resulted in nine tracks that, in Barman's own words, "go to your legs and your heart", while still remaining true to the band's diverse musical template and willingness to embrace a more spacious dynamic. Or, to use the singer's booze-based analogy: "If Vantage Point was a vodka Red Bull, then Keep You Close is a Mojito." You can down it in one right now below via the band's SoundCloud stream, as well as checking out the video for the album's freely-downloadable lead single, 'Constant Now'.

dEUS kick off their European tour this evening at London's KOKO venue, before stopping off at The Academy in Dublin tomorrow night (October 11). After that it's back to mainland Europe, where a further thirty or so dates will take them right up to Christmas week (full tour details here). We've got two pairs of tickets for the band's Dublin show to give away, courtesy of promoters MCD. All you have to do to stand a chance of winning a pair is email info@raggedwords.com (putting 'dEUS tickets' in the subject line) with the correct answer to the following question:

dEUS formed twenty years ago in which Belgian city?

The competition will close at 4pm tomorrow, at which point two randomly-selected winners will be notified via email. Best of luck!
